The NCC is a highly reputed body and holds a second line of defense. Thus, SRMIST Vadapalani has pledged the cadets to become resilient minds, fit body and committed hearts. This extracurricular activity motivates the students to jump into adventure and makes them find out how far they can go.

The enthusiastic cadets will get the opportunity to explore beyond boundaries. The overall performance the cadet exhibits throughout his life is a guaranteed blessing in this preparation. The sense of love for the country makes one want to not only raise the flag but also be righteous throughout their lives. The patriotism that he or she bears in the heart reflects in all their behaviour.

Objectives

To train volunteer youth to become confident, committed and competent leaders in all walks of life.
To enhance the awareness level of cadets for being responsible citizens of the country.
Provide opportunities and encourage cadets to enhance their knowledge and awareness levels on life, soft skills, communication skills, character building and personality development.
Conduct activities to provide value-based contributions to society in terms of social and community development.
Undertake adventure activities for the development of leadership qualities and risk-taking abilities. Provide a platform to launch “good-will ambassadors” cadets to project the image of the country overseas.
Provide an environment to motivate cadets to join the armed forces as a career.

Aims of NCC

The aim of the NCC is to develop discipline, character, brotherhood, the spirit of adventure, and the ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. It also aims to enlighten leadership qualities among youth and motivate them to choose a career in the armed forces.

NCC Flag

In 1954, the existing tricolor flag was introduced. The three colours in the flag depict the three services in the Corps: red for the Army, deep blue for the Navy, and light blue for the Air Force. The letters NCC and the NCC crest in gold in the middle of the flag, encircled by a wreath of lotus, give the flag a colourful look and a distinct identity. Each lotus represents one NCC Directorate.

NCC Pledge

“We, the cadets of the national cadet corps, do solemnly pledge that we shall always uphold the unity of India. We resolve to be disciplined and responsible citizens of our nation. We shall undertake positive community service in the spirit of selflessness and concern for our fellow beings”.
